Leading Lyme towards sustainable energy for less
At the March, 2020 Town Meeting, voters approved a warrant article that set a town-
wide goal of 100% reliance on clean, renewable sources of electricity by 2030. The
goal seeks to:
-
Reduce energy costs to the community and keep energy dollars in the local economy
-
Reduce the risks to the community of escalation and volatility in energy costs
-
Address the threat of global climate change
Lyme Community Power offers residents the opportunity to participate in getting us closer to that goal.

Lyme Community Power combines the buying power of residents and businesses so that together we can achieve competitively priced electricity.
-
In advance of the launch of Lyme Community Power, all customers within the Town will be mailed a notice containing information about their electricity rates and energy supply choice options.
-
The Town is hosting a public information session to answer questions about the program at 7PM on August 29th at Lyme School, 35 Union St, Lyme, NH 03768
-
All customers have until September 25th - when Lyme Community Power launches! - to consider whether you opt-out, opt-in, or opt-up to choose a cleaner power option:
-
Most customers currently on Eversource or NHEC default supply service do not have to take any action to benefit from our lower electricity rates; unless they choose to opt-out of the program, Lyme Community Power will begin serving them on the date that their utility reads their meter on or after October 1, 2024
-
Select customer groups are not eligible for automatic enrollment (Exceptions to Automatic Enrollment listed below) but may choose to opt-in.
-
-
After the launch of Lyme Community Power, customers are always free to choose to buy power from their utility, or from another market option, by submitting notice in advance of their next utility meter read date.
By accessing the power market, we can control price volatility and choose which energy sources to buy or build.

Electricity Supply Choices
Energy users in Lyme can select which energy choice works best for them.
Please note that the four options for your electricity provide a different percentage of renewable content. The Lyme Energy Committee encourages residents to choose the option that has the highest renewable content that you can afford.
Please note that during the current 6-month purchasing window, customers can choose the Clean 50 option (50% from renewables) and still save money over Eversource’s default which provides the state-mandated minimum of 24.3% renewables. Should rates or your financial situation change in February, 2025, you can always opt out or opt down in content.
Use the portal or call us at 1-866-603-POWR to choose your power option, or to opt out, and have your Eversource or NHEC account number handy so we can easily process your selection.
**If you have recently set up a new account with Eversource or NHEC, please call 1-866-603-7697 (POWR) to enroll in Lyme Community Power.
